Our Teams & Tasks Board

Join our Team | Take on a Task | Make a Difference

We're always looking for adults to be part of the teams that keep our Scout Group delivering for young people.

So many ways you can help - and help in ways that suit you.

Check out our Teams and Tasks Board and if you want to volunteer or  find out more, click the button below.

Our Teams and Tasks

Chairperson

This could be your best decision yet.

A really important role. Someone to lead our Trustee Board and help to keep the business side of the Scout Group functioning. Support and training provided.

This could be a job-share. Split the tasks with another trustee - focus on your strengths.

Be a Trustee

Making a difference behind the scenes

Join our Trustee Board (yes, we’re a registered charity). Bring with you a desire to see the Scout Group flourish and be well-managed.

Perhaps also a particular skill or interest that may help us. We have a need for people who can contribute to our  IT, Health & Safety, Public Relations or HR matters.

Finance Team

We need to keep our books balanced

In a busy Scout Group, money matters and we’re looking for people to be part of our Finance Team.

This would suit a small group of people with some finance background or experience who can work together to deliver the various elements, with the Group Treasurer as the trustee and lead finance volunteer.

Family Help Rota

Be there and make a real

difference!

Got a little time to spare? Then this is the easiest way to help us make a real difference for your youngsters. Just sign up to help out at an occasional meeting night or activity.

With a few Family Rota helpers each week, we can really transform what we’re able to do at section meetings.

Section Team Members

Help to make our weekly meetings amazing!

We need more people to come along to help out regularly at any Section meeting - being part of the team and even share the adventure with your youngster.

You’d need to complete our Grass Roots training (online) and have a Scout PVG check made.

Active Support Team

Help out and join in with  the adventure.

Keen to be regularly involved in supporting Scouts but limited for time?

Active Support allows you to help out and take part in some activities yourself. You can help with weekly meetings, activities and camps - but also behind the scenes and even those DIY tasks.

Your time - your choice!

Cleaning Team

Make our Scout Hall sparkle!

Be part of a team with other adults to keep our Scout Hall clean and tidy.

We're looking for people to provide occasional help at our planned cleaning times.

DIY Team

Can you fix it?

A really important team needed to keep our Scout Hall in great shape.  We’re always on a lookout for people to help us - a group of people who would be happy to take on specific “trade” tasks such as:

Electrical work | Alarms

Painting | Decorating

Woodwork

Plumbing

General DIY

All done at times that suit you.

Transport Team

Can you keep us moving?

We’re hoping to acquire a crew van and trailer to provide us with the ability to move equipment and people. Regular camps, activities, weekly meetings, fundraisers, tent and equipment hires will only be possible with our own transport. But we’ll need a practical and admin team to deliver this.

Before we can move ahead, we'd like to hear from anyone who might like to be part of this venture

For roles involving regular contact with young people and in trustee roles, we will require a PVG Scheme check and completion of essential (mandatory) training.
