Our Teams and Tasks

People to help at meetings or activities

Be there and help make a real

difference!

Got a little time to spare? Then this is the easiest way to help us make a real difference for your youngsters.

With a Scout PVG check, you can provide extra help your youngsters’ weekly meetings at times that suit you.

You’ll make a great contribution by supporting Section meetings and activities

Be a Section Team Member

Part of a team delivering amazing activities

Be part of a committed team to deliver the adventure and great opportunities for our young people!

We have a Team for each of our Sections. Just tell us which age group you’d like to work with.

You'll need a PVG check and  complete Grass Roots learning to take on tasks as part of the regular team.

Team Leader for Scouts and Explorers

Take charge of one of our teams

You’d lead a team of adults and make sure that we deliver for our young people by getting the best out of the team.

Again, there’s a learning commitment in Grass Roots plus Branching Out which includes a focus on Team Leader skills.

Behind the scenes support roles

Prefer to volunteer behind the scenes

Our Trustees look after the business of the Scout Group. We’re a Scottish Charity and need to be managed appropriately.

We need people with expertise that would be useful to that purpose - from finance and fundraising to premises and Health & Safety.

Not all need to be Trustee appointments.

Active Support Team members

Help out and join in with  the adventure

Support the young people in their activities and behind the scenes too.

Perhaps bringing some skills and interests to the Group.

And take part in a programme of activities with other adults in the team.

Your time - your choice!

Other tasks around the Scout Group

Things you could do from home - or in your own time

We can also offer some specific tasks:

> Painting | DIY | Electrical work in and around the Scout Hall
> IT support
> Driving minibuses
> Finance tasks such as help with Gift Aid and making grant applications
> Help to plan, organise and run our fundraising events
> Help us to hire out our Scout Hall as an important income stream
> Look after camping equipment

For roles involving regular contact with young people and in trustee roles, we will require a PVG Scheme check and, for some roles, completion of essential learning modules.

If you can help us with any of these roles or tasks, hit the button below!
