Welcome to Scouts!

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week –  having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

Every week, across the nation, we give almost half a million 6-25 year olds the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.

Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.

Sign up to help your child discover their ‘thing’: from abseiling to coding to performance art and everything in between.

Linburn Scouts

Our membership of more than 100 children and young people come from all over Dunfermline but particularly Abbeyview and the South East area of the town.

Linburn Scouts started in 1965, meeting in a variety of venues until moving to our own Scout Hall premises on Linburn Road in 1972. During those years, many hundreds of youngsters have enjoyed some great Scouting, but we outgrew this site and needed to find something much more suitable for a busy Scout Group.

The former clinic premises in Abbeyview came on the market at the end of 2017. Using funds built up by the Group over the previous 10 years we were able to move quickly and make a bid for the building. This was successful and after considerable refurbishment, we moved in during October 2018.

We are one of the busiest Scout Groups in the local area. Our Sections meet almost every week and average around 47 meetings each year. We have lots of extra activities, trips and camps.

We own our Scout Centre building and we have a large stock of outdoor activity and camping equipment.

Although we do not own our own minibus, we have access to range of Scout-owned vehicles which we use frequently for trips and activities.
