Supporting the Scout Group

Not everything we do involves working with young people

We have to manage our premises; raise funds and manage the financial business of the Group. The Group is a Scottish Charity (SC032681)

On this page, you can see the the main areas of activity that support the Scout Group - allowing Leaders to get on with the business of providing the best possible Scouting activities for our young people.

We always need people to help with these tasks. If you'd like to get involved, please contact us.

Premises management: putting practical skills to use

We own our Scout Centre and we're responsible for all repairs and maintenance.

We have a team who carry out the practical work required - painting, joinery, electrical, gardening, etc - to keep our Scout Centre working and in good condition.

There's always plenty to be done! At present we do the cleaning too! With a team or four or five, it might only involve an hour or two every few weeks - at a time that suits you.

We now have an amazing building. Find out more on our Scout Centre page.

Making money: helping to raise funds

We have an active fundraising programme to provide additional funds to invest in our premises, equipment and activities.

There are many ways to help with this. Much of it can be done from home and fit around other commitments, such as:

  • help run hot food stalls at community events
  • make applications for grants and donations
  • organise our annual Group sponsor event
  • run our annual prize draw
  • organise events such as quiz nights
