Almost finished!

The story so far ...

... we have transformed Abbeyview Clinic into a modern, multi-purpose Scout Centre with a main activity space, Leaders room and breakout room. There's also a main office, committee room, art and craft (messy) room plus storage facilities for the equipment and resources needed by our six regular Section meetings for up to 150 youngsters.

In addition, the building has a large store room for our camping equipment stock plus breakout space in the entrance hallway, a reception office, kitchen and toilet facilities. This provides a Scout Centre which will be able to accommodate wider Scouting use and, in due course, community meeting and activity facilities. The Centre is also fully accessible.

The site also offers parking and access that is significantly better than the old location and is part of the busy central Abbeyview area with the Community Centre, Tryst Centre, St Ninian's Church, Abbeyview Bowling Club and local shops.

Can you help us with the remaining work?

There's not too much left now, but we're looking for volunteers with the skills or enthusiasm to help with these tasks:
  • Joinery work on door and window frames
  • Painting work -  still some walls, door frames, doors, skirting needing finished off
  • Completion of spaces with shelving, cupboards, wall notice-boards, white boards, etc

We're looking forward to a formal opening day during summer and really want to complete the remaining tasks.  We'll try to work around your availability - weekdays, evenings or weekends. We're flexible - whenever is your best time, just let us know!

To offer help or for more information, you can contact Stuart Middleton on linburn.scouts@yahoo.co.uk or use our Contact Us page on this website.
