Cubs - 8 to 10½ years

Develop new skills. Soar to great heights. Being a Cub opens up a whole other world.

At their weekly meetings, Cubs get a chance to try new things, work with other people, explore the world around them and develop personal skills.

In addition to the fun and games, you will get a chance to try lots of different activities like climbing & abseiling, swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting.

Cubs follow a Balanced programme and can earn Challenge Awards, such as Adventure, Outdoors, Skills, Our World, Teamwork and Team Leader. There's also a Personal Challenge and this all leads to the top award in Cubs, called the Chief Scout’s Silver Award - a real achievement! You can also earn a range of Activity Badges covering everything from Artist to World Faiths.

Our two Cub Packs meet weekly throughout the year, with short breaks in summer and at Christmas, so you can enjoy nearly 48 exciting Cub Scout meetings each year! We organise day trips and visits to places such as Landmark Adventure Park, Glasgow Science Centre or Blair Drummond Safari Park.

At least twice each year, you will get a chance to go to a camp or other sleepover activity. Sometimes this will be sleeping indoors and at other times you will be sleeping in a tent. Our Cubs sometimes have the opportunity to take part in a bigger trip and have been regular visitors to London. This has included staying on a boat and visiting some amazing places.
